BILL LIGON ~ Senior Pastor


Bill Ligon holds the B.A. degree from Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee; and the Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

He experienced the call of God on his life at age 18 and has ministered as a pastor-teacher since 1955. After serving student pastorates in Tennessee and Kentucky while in school, he became the Assistant Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Tallahassee, Florida. He also served as pastor of the First Baptist Church in Madison, Florida; the Lee Street Baptist Church of Valdosta, Georgia; and the First Baptist Church of Brunswick, Georgia.

He and his wife, the former Dorothy Jean Reeves of Tallahassee, Florida, served for six years as Southern Baptist missionaries to Spain. The year 1970-71, Mr. Ligon was professor of Christian Ethics at the Spanish Baptist Seminary in Barcelona, Spain, during which time he was baptized in the Holy Spirit.

He founded the Christian Renewal Church of Brunswick, Georgia in 1973, and has served as Senior Pastor of the church since then. He was one of the founders of the Fellowship of Churches and Ministers International (FCMI) with churches in eight states and three foreign countries. He is the author of the book, Discipleship: The Jesus View, published by Logos International and "Imparting the Blessing to Your Children."

MARK LINTON~ Youth Pastor

Mark Linton currently serves as our Youth Pastor. He has an Associates degree in Health and Physical Education from BJC (Coastal GA Community College) and a Bachelor of Theology from Beacon University. Since coming on staff in 1990, he has served in many different capacities which include Director of Children’s nursery and Youth ministries, bible teacher for HCA Middle and High school, Eagles girls and boys Softball coach, boys JV basketball coach, and various other duties. For the past 15 years, Mark has served as Director of Kingdom Kids Camp, a multi-denominational summer camp that ministered to an average of 400 kids a year and he is the chaplain for the Brunswick High School Football team “The Pirates.”  His responsibilities as chaplain includes a pre-game meal for every home game with a 20 minute devotional from the Good News of Jesus Christ as well as Prayer with the team before and after every game.

Mark has often been referred to as the “Youthful” pastor mainly because of his love for all sports.  His favorite hobbies are fishing, golfing and snowboarding.  His greatest accomplishment on this planet is, without a doubt, marrying his wife Liz.  Liz has a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University and is employed by the Glynn County School System as a third grade teacher at Glyndale Elementary.  She is currently working towards her Masters degree. Mark and Liz have been blessed with two wonderful children, Mark Anthony, who is a senior at HCA, and Megan, who is a freshman also at HCA.  Both are active in the youth ministry and have a desire to see a mighty move of God in their generation.

RICK POSTELL~ Children's and Small Groups Pastor

Rick and his wife Amy serve in the Children’s Ministry of our church.   They came to CRC from the United Methodist Church of Kingsland, Ga. where Rick served for three and a half years as the Children’s Pastor and Director of Christian Education.  Rick currently serves on staff as the Children’s Pastor and Director of Educational Development for Heritage Christian Academy where he teaches High School Bible. Also,  Rick serves on the Academy Leadership Board and is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Southern Christian Conference Athletic Association of which HCA is the founding school.   He received his B.S. Resources Management degree from Troy State University, AL and holds a B.A. in Theology from Beacon University, Columbus, GA.  He is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity from Beacon University. 

Amy serves as Nursery Coordinator for our church as well as holding the position of Elementary and Upper School Media Specialist for Heritage Christian Academy.  She teaches Elementary and Middle School Spanish and Computer Lab.  Amy received her B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Valdosta State University, Valdosta, Ga.  Amy taught in the Georgian Public School system for 10 years before home schooling their children.    

Rick and Amy have three children, Sam, Charlie, and Hayley.  All three are currently enrolled at Heritage Christian Academy.
