Christian Renewal Church was born in a time of spiritual awakening. People were hungry for the Holy Spirit, and prayer meetings had formed in homes, offices, and churches around Brunswick and the Golden Isles.
On September 9, 1973, one hundred people crowded into a small meeting room at a local bank for the first church service. The pastors were surprised by the large turnout, so the next Sunday the church was moved to Howard Coffin Park Recreational Building where the congregation quickly grew to two hundred. Under the direction of Pastors Bill Ligon, Jim Adkins and Calder Kinney, the church continued to grow and prosper. Eventually the church was moved into new facilities at its present location.
Since its beginning Christian Renewal Church has been known as a dwelling place for God’s presence – a place where people can receive Christ as Savior and Lord, and be filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Our greatest joy is to help people who are far from God, come into a genuine, loving, and personal relationship with Him, and be a part of a thriving community of believers making a difference in the lives of others.
We welcome you to join us on this journey!
